Passion for counseling: Cosmin Antonescu is a Romanian-born counselor in training. He is passionate about understanding human nature, eager to be a healing presence and creating an open, safe environment for anyone who has a need to be heard, a heart to be understood and a desire for self-awareness and fulfillment.
Eclectic approach: In the therapeutic dialog, Cosmin has a special interest in facilitating a deeper connection and understanding for couples and families, as well as for individuals in any stage of their lives, from childhood to older age. He uses an integrative approach, creating a welcoming space, unconditional positive regard, and a deep sense of respect for the uniqueness of each individual and relationship.
Parenting: His love and passion for his wife and 3 beautiful children, ranging from college to kindergarten, is growing day by day. He is constantly fascinated by the deep bond, and unique challenges offered by a marital relationship as well as by parenting and raising a beautiful daughter and two awesome boys. As a result, Cosmin loves working with children of any age and their families.
Multicultural: He speaks Romanian fluently and could help clients with forging an identity as a first-generation immigrant and adjusting to new cultural roles. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Romania and came to the United States 15 years ago.
Education and leadership: Cosmin has completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Loyola University’s Pastoral Counseling Department. He is also a full-time eastern-orthodox minister for the Romanian community in the DC area, as well as an associate hospital chaplain. Due to his spiritual education, Cosmin welcomes spirituality into the counseling session.
