Anxiety and depression are among the most common mental health issues that bring individuals to counseling. Work pressure, life events, health concerns, and other experiences cause a neurobiological response signaling danger. Feelings such as dread, restlessness, and tension all accompany Anxiety. Feelings such as prolonged sadness, worthlessness, and hopelessness accompany Depression.

Using an integrative approach drawing upon psychodynamic and Imago principles, Madeleine helps clients struggling with a range of emotions including anxiety and depression. Leading with the tenets of empathy, compassion, and collaboration, Madeleine works to co-create a safe, healing environment for clients to process their emotions and life experiences, explore and validate ways of being, and work alongside them on their journey towards their most authentic sense of self. Life can be difficult, and you don’t need to process it on your own.

When an individual goes through a great loss, they can experience a complex mix of feelings that can be emotional, physical, and even behavioral. Any kind of loss, not just the death of a loved one, can trigger a deep sense of grief and mourning. Feelings of grief can include deep sadness, anger, loss of energy, and loss of connection. Through grief counseling, Madeleine helps her clients navigate the stages of the mourning process and wade through the range of emotions that accompany it. Madeleine’s goal is to create a safe and inviting space for clients to process their emotions and life experiences, explore and validate ways of being, and to work alongside them on their journey through the grief experience.

Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS) is an assessment used with couples in order to gain personal insight into one’s relationship and learn about the unique combination of personalities within a partnership to work towards lasting love and commitment.

As a Certified SYMBIS Facilitator, Madeleine uses the assessment with pre-marital and committed couples in order to educate them on a variety of dimensions including Marriage Mindset, Communication, Attitudes, Social Support, and Role Expectations. Built on a growing mountain of research, the SYMBIS Assessment offers a roadmap to prepare couples for marriage and long-term commitment. Madeleine aids in the facilitation of the Assessment and is a supportive presence as the couple explores their relationship dynamic. She uses dialogue to help clients understand the patterns in relationships to identify areas of growth and healing, and help create a life where healthy, long-lasting relationships can thrive.
