Exploring Sexuality for Teens (grades 8-10)
This six-week group is based on the principles of the Our Whole Lives curriculum and seeks to give youth a safe and affirming space to:
- Gain accurate information about sexuality presented in developmentally appropriate, inclusive ways
- Accept that sexuality is a natural and positive part of being human
- Ask questions, clarify values, examine attitudes and beliefs, and improve decision-making skills around sexuality
- Build self-acceptance and self-esteem and learn skills to build healthy relationships
- Explore topics such as relationships, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality
- Learn to live a life that values self-worth and the inherent worth of other people
The group will run virtually every Wednesday, from January 12 through February 16, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. It will be facilitated by Samantha Steinfeld.
